As part of the 'Regional Initiative of Excellence - Doskonałe Podkarpacie – a comprehensive environmental study  at the University of Rzeszów for the benefit of the region' programme, a group of scientists has established a partnership with PureEkoTech Sp. z o.o., a company that specialises in modern environmental solutions.  The purpose of this collaboration is to develop effective and environmentally friendly technologies that reduce the negative impact of landfill leachate on aquatic and soil ecosystems. Particular attention is being paid to the use of algae as natural biofilters in combination with sorbent materials to remove pollutants from landfill leachate.
